Reporting to the Secure Renewables and Grid Integration Program Manager, you will help with tasks related to our novel resonance frequency bushing decoupler for improved seismic resilience of large power transformers. This project will research feasibility and perform experimental testing and detailed numerical finite-element model development. You will also be involved in our scientific-quality power system sensors for long-term reliable contact measurements project. This research will result in voltage and current sensor platforms that meet performance goals suitable for installation in high voltage applications. Software will be researched and developed to analyze and visualize the signals of interest.

This team works a 9x80 schedule onsite at our UB4 facility in Idaho Falls, ID. This internship can be offered hybrid or remote.

• Undergraduate senior enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Electrical Engineering
• A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

• Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)
• Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)
• PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
• Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
• Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
