We are an independent medical office seeking an experienced Insurance Claims Specialist. The position is remote within the local area. You will be responsible for following up on claims to ensure payment and may include writing reconsiderations and appeals. Plus, discuss insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and create payment plans with patients. Requires a strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, coding, and documentation guidelines. Strong customer service, organizational and communication skills are essential to this position. The position requires an ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in an occasionally stressful environment. Experience in a variety of insurances is preferred.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Check insurance eligibility and benefits.

· Claim follow-up.

· Appeal / reconsideration writing.

· Collect payments and set-up payment plans.

· Discuss bills with patients.

· Assist front desk with patient billing questions.

· Various other duties as assigned.
