    General Description

    The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is a state organization dedicated to partnering with communities to help create a climate of success for Georgia's families and businesses.     Overview of Job:

  • Issue daily cash projections timely and accurately.
  • Set the payment check runs in accordance with the department documented process.
  • Run various reports to ensure invoices are paid timely with no holds.
  • Provide a daily listing of invoices scheduled to pay for final review.
  • Verify the accuracy of processed invoices.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Monitor and adjust workflow and assignments to meet established timelines.
  • Facilitate staff participation to develop, implement, and continuously improve service delivery to ensure the attainment of the core strategies and mission of the agency.
  • Coach and support staff in developing and implementing work plans and/or initiatives, working cooperatively and interdependently with others and all departments.
  • Maintain and update desk procedures and checklists for accounting processing and reporting and cross-train staff.
  • Complete performance reviews of staff by the required deadlines.
  • Perform payroll accounting functions and related programs or processes.
  • Reconcile and resolve payroll issues, errors, and discrepancies as necessary before deadlines.
  • Perform account reconciliations and other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    ·Master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND One year of professional accounting experience OR

    ·Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university AND Two years of professional accounting experience OR

    ·Bachelor's degree in a business curriculum which included completion of introductory and intermediate accounting sequence from an accredited college or university AND Three years of professional accounting experience.

    ·At least 1 year of supervisory experience required.

    PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

    Sedentary Work – Ability to exert pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
