    Job Objective:
    A brief overview of the position.
    Duties will include knowledge of all invasive and non-invasive ultrasound procedures. Proficient in all diagnostic US imaging, portable and vascular exams. The US tech will have operating knowledge of all US equipment and computer based systems. Technologists should perform sonographic exams of the highest quality. The US tech will give correct and detailed patient histories and accurate interpretation of exams. The US tech will have good communication skills with the Ultrasound Supervisor, radiologists, co-workers, patients and other staff. EMC is an ACR accredited institution.

    Experience Required:

    Proficient scanning general and vascular examsPreferred: 1-2 years Hospital experienceEssential ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.

    Use Universal Precautions in all situations per policy and procedureDemonstrates knowledge of patient age-specific needs and provides the care neededObtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.

    Follows department protocols for each exam.
    Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms and contacting Radiology RN when necessary.
    Keeps patient informed of exam procedures, any delays, and allows patient to ask questions regarding the procedure.
    Keeps open communication with Emergency Department Physicians and staff on patient exam, delays, concerns and care.
    Demonstrates knowledge of operating room sterile field procedures.

    Proficient in doing portable exams in the OR.Performs Sonographic images of the highest technical qualitySets up sterile trays and assists the Radiologist in invasive procedures with Ultrasound guidanceProficient in using all Ultrasound equipment including the Nicolet Vascular Lab and reporting all deficiencies to the immediate supervisor.


    Proficient in documenting appropriately in:
    PACS, Patient chart, required forms and billing.
    Prioritizes procedures and utilizes time wisely to complete daily workload within the scheduled shift.

    Covers for receptionist and tech assistant as neededFlexible working additional shifts and different shifts as neededMaintains cleanliness of all Ultrasound rooms, machines and control areaEnters correct charges and supplies in the computer.

    Gives accurate and detailed interpretations of exams.
