    Summary



    The Registered Nurse-Nurse Educator position is located in Nursing, Education service at the Bedford campus. This position is full time at 40 hours per week.



    Duties

    The Nurse Educator is responsible for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for the development of staff. Educational programs may include in- services, orientation, continuing education, annual reviews, skills certification, and staff development. The Nurse Educator performs assessment of staff learning needs and is responsible to ensure staff receives adequate orientation and staff development activities to facilitate compliance with patient care standards. The Nurse Educator assumes accountability to include classroom instruction, clinical teaching, collaboration, and will act as a clinical consultant and resource person to hospital staff. Plans, oversees and schedules educational and developmental activities for nursing staff members in coordination with Department Chiefs and Managers. Provides educational materials to service unit staff responsible for educating and informing patients. They also provide consultation and education to medical center staff in areas such as equipment, Mandatory Reviews, BCLS/ ACLS, orientation, cross training, and continuing education. They demonstrate leadership through developing and coordinating programs to improve quality of care and organizational processes. Coordinates activities related to clinical experiences for students or affiliated nursing schools as assigned. Assists and participates in the implementation of emergency preparedness plans, procedures, and training (for external and internal events). Duties may also include scholarship coordination, PMDB coordination, nursing affiliations programs, Transition to Practice coordination and nursing assistant training program coordination.
