    Sr EI&C Engineer
    Join our team of leaders in electrical, instrumentation & controls engineering. Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced
    Field Engineers with field experience and strong knowledge of industrial processing in the electrical, instrumentation & control

    disciplines. Shermco is an industry-leading turnkey systems integration firm.

    This position is a multi-skill position with emphasis in the electrical, instrumentation & controls trades. This motivated team player
    will possess a basic knowledge of electrical infrastructure (low & medium voltage), manufacturing instrumentation, and process
    control systems (PLC & DCS). Experienced in the Food & Beverage and Agricultural industry. This position provides vast opportunity
    for advancement both technically and professionally

    Job Responsibilities and Expectations


    • Read, interpret, and understand Electrical Schematics, Single-lines, Instrument Specification Sheeets, Instrument Process
    Applications, P&ID's, loop drawings, installation details, layout drawings and other drawings & documents typically
    associated with construction packages and projects.


    • Develop and /or coordinate with client Construction Bid Packages including written scope of work, drawings, cable
    schedules, location plans etc.


    • Read, interpret, and understand construction project specifications, cable schedules, material take-offs etc...
    • Coordinate with Customer and sub-contractors, technical staff, and SSI management as needed to facilitate pre-bid
    meetings, bid walks, scope discussions for new work packages.


    • Perform or assist in performing material take-off's, generating construction estimates and developing proposals.
    • Coordinate between customer and sub-contractors to ensure all aspects of installation and testing procedures, means and
    methods have been identified and agreed to.


    • Act as liaison and technical resource for customer, field personnel and subcontractors, as necessary.
    • Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and resolution of problems within the electrical, instrumentation and
    control environment.


    • Coordinate repair, testing, and installation of EI&C panels, and network equipment.
    • Mechanical and Electrical installation of panels and instrumentation.
    • Field wiring of panels and instrumentation.
    • Coordinate commissioning of EI&C assets and panels as needed by customer.
    • Coordinate Electrical Permits.
    • Be a Champion for Electrical Safety Excellence.
    • Coordinate field commissioning activities for Electrical & Instrumentation as required.
    Minimum Qualifications:


    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
    • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in industrial electrical, instrumentation and controls.
    • Experienced in the Food & Beverage and the Agriculture Industries.
    • Must have experience with low and medium voltage controls.
    • Thorough understanding of industrial construction project drawings and specifications.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Keep up to date on current communication technology and equipment to include RF, Fiber, Copper networking.
    • Journeyman electrical license.
    • Electrical understanding of motor controls, control loops, pneumatic/hydraulic theory, relay logic and analog signal loop
    theory.


    • PLC, DCS / SCADA software experience is a plus.
    • Self-motivated individual - able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Team oriented, flexible and willing to assist in other technical disciplines.
    • Basic understanding of field instruments, valves, control panels.
    • Hand and power tool capabilities.
    Requirements:


    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations

    Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required


    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
    • All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening.
    • Must have a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
    • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit).
    • Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
    • Must be willing to travel; minimum 50%.
