    Job Description:

    We are looking for a Human Resources professional with 5+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing operation. Youll be responsible for various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. We are a growing company, and our HR practices need to grow with us, so we need someone who likes to build and optimize processes and procedures Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills are a must.     Work Environment:

    You will be based out of our Richmond, Virginia location. You will work a hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days in our Richmond location and the remainder at your choice of location. You will travel to our sister locations on a regular basis to check in and to build relationships. Required travel likely will not exceed 1-2 weeks per quarter.

    Youll report to our CEO and our part-time VP, HR. Youll also work closely with our VP, Operations and our leadership team.

    Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

    Support managers in hiring activities, including drafting postings, posting on strategic boards and basic screening through in-person interviews and offers.

    Actively develop community resources for hiring and engagement of potential qualified candidates.

    Understand and manage company benefit plans, ensuring that materials are up to date and work with the Communications Team to ensure that materials are prepared and available to employees and candidates. Knowledge of ICHRA and ACA compliance is a plus.

    Onboard candidates using E-Verify and ensure I-9s and other required HR steps are completed, work with the candidate and Accounting to ensure that all required information has been uploaded to payroll and HR systems and help the candidate navigate benefits enrollment.

    Work with local managers to ensure an appropriate training plan is in place for new employees and work with managers and leaders to develop ongoing training and development for existing employees.

    Provide guidance to employees and managers on the companys policies i.e., PTO, attendance, etc.

    Work with managers to ensure a consistent approach to skill development and evaluations and performance management. Regularly meet with employees for progress reviews and assessments, discussing any problems or grievances they may have.

    Promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues.

    Understand and adhere to all pertinent labor laws.

    Skills Needed in the Role:

    5+ years experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.

    Interested in expanding skillset and working in a manufacturing environment with multi-state locations with onsite, hybrid and remote teams.

    Skilled in using software and recruiting platforms such as Indeed, Monster and LinkedIn, as well as cloud HR payroll and HRIS systems (Rippling is a plus).

    Tech savvy with capacity to learn new systems, applications, and software.

    Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.

    Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

    Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations
