    • Friday 9 am 2 pmReports to: PastorSummaryThe Custodian fulfills the mission by maintaining a neat, clean, safe, and organized environment and will be responsible for the care, cleanliness and maintenance of the parish facilities and grounds.
    This position will also require the individual to be knowledgeable of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.

    Essential Job FunctionsClean and care for assigned areas including dusting, and polishing of furniture, equipment and other fixtures including the hall center when it is requiredSanitize pews, chairs, and kneelersClean all building floors (sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming)Polish, seal, and strip floorsClean all windows, glass partitions, and mirrorsClean, disinfect and resupply restroomsGather and empty trash binsCheck grounds for litter/garbage and unsafe conditionsLift and carry supplies, equipment, deliveries etc.

    Set-up rooms for meetings and timeframe requested (moving tables, chairs, microphone, chalk boards, etc.)Stock and maintain all custodial supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner including, paper, toiletries, lighting cleaning chemicals and other suppliesIdentify and report building and ground issues in need of repair or attention to Pastor or designated supervisorObserve and adhere to all safe work and health policies and regulationsAny other duties as required by the Pastor Collaborates with others to enhance the work environmentConducts emergency clean ups and repairs as neededConducts periodic maintenance activities and minor repairsMeets with and monitors work of outside contractorsCommunicates maintenance and repair issues to the principal RequirementsQualificationsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.

    Prior custodian / janitorial experience preferred.
    Knowledge and/ or experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals .Experience with operating various cleaning equipment. Ability to perform with minimal daily supervision.
    Must be proactive in support of the Parish purpose, goals, policies and programs.
    Must possess good interpersonal communication skills. Must complete and pass VIRTUS training and criminal background check.

    Physical Demands/ Work EnvironmentSpend majority of work time standing/ squatting/ lifting/ kneeling doing a wide variety of moderate physical activity both indoors and outdoors.

    The position requires the lifting of tools, and equipment or material weighing up to 30 lbs.
