Job description
A school in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking three dedicated Special Education Teachers for the upcoming school year.These full-time contract positions provide an opportunity to support high school students in a resource role, focusing on individualized education plans and ensuring each student's academic and social success.
Two of the positions are located at the same high school campus, while the third is at a different high school in the area.
Each teacher will manage caseloads of approximately 17-20 students, working closely with other staff to tailor educational programs that meet diverse learning needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for high school students with special education needs
Provide resource support in academic and social areas within a high school setting
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state special education regulations
Desired Qualifications
Valid Special Education teaching certification
Experience working with high school students in a special education resource setting
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 17-20 students effectively
Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
