    Senior Operations Engineer , MHE Engineering

    MHE (Material Handling Engineering) is hiring a talented operations engineer that has field experience improving operations thru identifying mechanical solutions that enhance operational performance of conveyance systems throughout the AMZL network.

    You will be directly responsible for owning conveyance vendor activities in new and existing building driving optimization projects that make a large impact at a scale that only Amazon can do.

    Key job responsibilities
    An MHE engineer is responsible for the below: 1) Own all mechanical aspects of vendor conveyance system designs 2) Identifies areas for operational improvement and drive projects accordingly 3) Maintain the highest of earns trust with operations and vendors 4) Review CAD drawings provided by vendors to ensure designs meet design standards 5) Own specifications related to conveyance system design A day in the life

    In this position you will get to create mechanical solutions that drive operational improvements in a large delivery station network.

    A typical day includes engaging with vendors that supply conveyance, managing deployment/improvement projects while building relationships with internal stakeholders About the team

    The AMZL MHE (Material Handling Engineering) team owns the design of conveyance systems in delivery stations in NA (North America).

    This is achieved thru owning vendor design specifications, drawing reviews, pre/post installation management, and driving network wide improvement projects.

    We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
    Bellevue, WA, USA
    Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM field

    • 5+ years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation
    • 3+ years of experience directly managing large material handling or automation projects
    Master's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Operations, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related STEM field

    • Design and/or implementation experience with integrated automation solutions, such as complex material handling systems, highspeed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines
    • Operations Management/Distribution Center experience
    • Experience in ecommerce customer fulfillment
    • Certified OE Black Belt, Green Belt or Lean Sensei, Lean manufacturing efforts, transportation/logistics and/or fulfillment/distribution centers
    • Experience in running SQL queries and data mining
    • Knowledge in technical leadership for largescale industrial engineering projects or programs
    • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and highspeed manufacturing
    • Knowledge to work independently in a fastpaced and rapidly changing environment
    • Knowledge to manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with external business partners and internal teams to meet organizational capacity needs
    • Written, verbal and interpersonal skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Project and Outlook
    • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)

    The base pay for this position ranges from $95,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
