    Overview

    The Data Applications & Visualization Developer is responsible for delivering data-driven solutions to meet data, analytic and reporting needs associated with organization and program specific projects and initiatives.

    They develop dashboards and reports for agency-wide initiatives and assist data management analysts in completing dashboards.
    Responsibilities

    KEY FUNCTIONS & EXPECTED PERFORMANCES :

    • Participate as a key stakeholder in the implementation and deployment of the Rising Ground Data Collection Plan
    • Deliver data-driven solutions to support the advancement of Rising Ground's Strategic Plan and meet organization needs related to data collection, data management, analysis and reporting through:
    • Modernizing, improving, and advancing existing processes and systems by identifying process improvement opportunities and facilitating key decisions regarding data standards
    • Collaboration with project stakeholders to identify needs, goals and methodologies
    • Analyzing and dissecting user requirements to build front-end BI applications to specifications and needs
    • Designing systematic and procedural road maps for BI solutions
    • Engineering innovative and user-friendly databases, ETL protocols, applications, and tools for data collection and ETL automation (Tableau Prep, SQL, Power Query)
    • Designing and developing interactive dashboards at organization and program levels
    • Leading the deployment and management efforts of the Tableau Cloud platform
    • Providing mentorship and Tableau training to team members
    • Monitor data sources and perform routine maintenance by:
    • Executing routine performance-tuning to achieve optimal performance
    • Analyzing and resolving cross-functional data issues
    • Troubleshooting reported issues, determining root causes and implementing counter measures
    • Overseeing and validating integration of source data into the Tableau environment
    • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Data Management

    KNOWLEDGE, TECHNICAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Ability to leverage advanced Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep functionality, including but not limited to, data blending, joins, parameters, dashboard actions, tooltip modifications, API, LOD calculations, formatting for mobile functionalities.
    • Advanced knowledge of industry standards and practices in descriptive & predictive analytics and business intelligence reporting concepts
    • Advanced knowledge and experience with data modeling, database design, data architecture and data analysis
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, including but not limited to, complex formulas, Power Pivot, data validation, Power Query, M language, application and form development & design using VBA
    • Experience working with executive management, employing the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION & EXPERIENCE :

    • Bachelor's degree or 5 years experience in Data Science related field
    • Bachelor's degree or 2 years experience in Social Service-related field
    • Tableau Professional Certification or 4 years proven experience using Tableau's advanced features
    1+ years experience as a Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server Administrator (preferred
