    Description

    Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist
    Location: Bricktown, NJ

    Job Summary:

    The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

    Essential Generic Job Functions:
    1. Provide Respiratory Therapy:
      • Administer respiratory therapy under medical direction, focusing on the education, treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
    2. Intubation and Ventilator Management:
      • Assist with intubations and manage ventilator setup and operations.
    3. Patient Evaluation:
      • Gather all necessary information to evaluate the patient's needs, including specific disease education, testing, and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
    4. Patient and Caregiver Interaction:
      • Develop a rapport and mutual respect with patients, caregivers, and team members to foster an optimal environment for goal achievement.
    5. Education and Documentation:
      • Provide and document education to patients and caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
    6. Additional Duties:
      • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
    7. Compliance:
      • Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
    8. Physical Requirements:
      • Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand for at least 1 hour per day.
    9. Contact:
      • Maintain regular contact with medical personnel and visitors.
