- Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission "Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training, and job placement."
- Establishes ongoing partnerships with corporations, businesses and organizations or community agencies to strengthen student learning and community engagement within the JAG schools.
- Creates all related materials available to guidance counselors and school staff such as flyers, JAG marketing material and handouts.
- Develops methods for sharing materials and systems between the schools about employment or internship opportunities.
- Builds relationships and partners with college admission and guidance counselors to create open lines of communication.
- Takes a leading role in planning our Annual Career Development Conference.
- Post-Secondary/Career Outreach
- Provides one-on-one support to students throughout the college preparation process, including but not limited to: college search, application, ACT/SAT testing, financial aid and the transition process.
- Assists specialists and students with scholarship search and data management.
- Assists specialist in coordinating college visits, employer visits and field trips.
- Presents college preparatory activities (guest speakers) to the JAG classes on college admission as well as other post-secondary options such as: trade schools, apprenticeships, short term training programs and military service.
- Work Experience Development
- Works with JAG Specialist and JAG students presenting information regarding work experiences.
- Provides technical assistance for all areas of career and employment questions for in-school JAG classrooms and out-of-school JAG alum during their year of follow-up and beyond.
- Works closely with the Youth Business Service Representative identifying employers and area partners to develop and maintain relationships in supporting JAG students.
- Screens, completes paperwork, and collects timesheets of students participating in work experiences.
- JAG Specialist Support
- Manages and provides data on guest speakers, model service activities, IDP and Coordinators reports.
- Prepares monthly reports for regional and state performance measures.
- Provides assistance and support to JAG Specialist including subbing if needed.
- Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Attends meetings with the JAG Manager and Youth Director.
- Attends open houses, job fairs, recruitment events as needed.
- Extensive Travel to support staff for Coordinator duties -FAFSA, College Apps, Fairs, Mock Interviews)
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of regional education and training offerings, including Adult Education Centers.

- 2 years related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in social service, counseling, business, education, or a related discipline is preferred.
