Find out more at orwatch an overview video at About the RoleThe Safety Manager plans,supervises, and coordinatesthe activities of employees engaged in the formulation of safetystandards, procedures, andspecifications including methodologies and strategies that promoteinjury prevention and work safety. Collaborates with departments toanalyze working conditions and procedures and recommends safetyimprovement processes.Supervises the safety and training staff,including BTWT, at the location (if applicable). Responsible for coaching,counseling, hiring, and discipline/termination ofemployees Provides classroom and on-vehicletraining to new employees, and retraining to existing employees,including retraining as part of disciplinary and performancemanagement efforts
  • Investigatestraining and safety problems with drivers and CDL holders; offerssolutions
    • Administers the fleet safety programat the location, making sure that it is consistent with Transdevsafety policy and proceduresAdministers Workers' Compensationprogram at location, coordinating with Transdev contracted Workers'Compensation AdministratorAudits accident data to identifytrends and accidents that can be prevented with improvedServes as the central point of information anddata for safety and training activity at the location, includingmaintaining data on trainees, licenses, drug and alcohol program(DER), and other training activity (i.e. OSHA), as well as safety data andtrends
  • Maintainsdriver, and other safety-sensitive employee,qualifications files
    • Performs other duties asrequiredExperience, Skills, and KnowledgeRequired
    • Bachelor'sDegree in business, logistics, or related field of study ispreferred
      • 3-5 yearsof operations experience in asafety-sensitive environmentinclusive of OSHA, MIS, FMSCA, FTA, DOT and otherfederal compliance experience5+ yearsof previous supervisoryexperience
    • Proven adultclassroom instructor experience. Experience developing trainingsyllabus a plus
      • Valid CDL classB with passenger and airbrakeendorsements
    • Superiorcommunication (verbal and written) and presentationskills
      • Must be able topass third-party tester certification within ninety(90) days of employment, if necessaryAbility to usestandard PC workstation and facility with use of all MS Officeapplications required; general knowledge of database technologypreferredKnowledge of WebRisk, Trans Trak or similar computerized reporting systemspreferredMust possessability to lead and motivate associates Proven customerservice and interpersonal skills amust
    • Must be ateam-players and possess the ability to interact professionallywith internal and external customers on all levels and be able to workwell with diverse groups
      • Must be able towork flexible hours or shiftsMust possess orbe able to attain certification as a Transit Trainer and be able tosign off on Class B licenses
