    About the Job

    The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full-time faculty researcher/scientist. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in research, scholarly productivity, and teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a research fellowship and/or a clinical scholars program designed to prepare physician-scientists for an independent career in clinical and patient-oriented translational research.

    The faculty appointment will be in the Department of Radiation Oncology. The candidate will also be expected to maintain a clinical practice and may see patients at University of Minnesota clinics throughout the Minneapolis metro area. The position provides substantial resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and exceptional opportunities for collaboration with investigators in the University of Minnesota Medical School and the Masonic Cancer Center (http://www.cancer.umn.edu), an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

    Candidates will have the opportunity to mentor and teach medical residents and medical students. Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research. Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.
