We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Global M&A Legal Practice Area (M&A Group) as a Practice Manager. The candidate will work under the direction of the Director, Practice Management - Tech and work closely with partners and administrative team members to ensure timely and effective execution on processes and systems that support the strategic objectives of the M&A Group. Who You Are:
    • Overall Practice Management Operations : Work with the CPO, M&A Group leaders, BU Directors and practice management team to manage operational and strategic aspects of the M&A Group, including internal organization, meetings and events, information management, and other initiatives as requested. Identify and help to prioritize needs and opportunities of the M&A Group, and work to advance relevant initiatives.
    • Talent Management: Based upon a solid understanding of the talent management goals of the Business Law Department, the M&A Group, the relevant Business Unit, and each individual attorney, work with M&A Group partners and interact with and administrators on various talent management initiatives, including recruitment, diversity and inclusion, and professional development and training. Understand and leverage the broader firm tools, process, and strategy to ensure proper execution on the M&A Group talent strategy.
    • Business & Market Intelligence: Produce reporting and analytics to build business and market intelligence that informs M&A Group leadership on trends related to overall practice management, including talent management, financial performance, and knowledge management. Collaborate with the CPO, Director, Practice Management - Tech and administrators to identify actionable issues and plans arising out of metrics analysis and execute on related efforts to support and advance initiatives.
    • Collaborate Across Firm Resources and Support : Serve as a key liaison between the M&A Group leaders and other functions of the Firm's Global Operations team, including talent acquisition, finance, learning and professional development, attorney development, client development, DEI, and knowledge management, among others, to ensure collaboration in support of the M&A Group and help with efficiency in execution of strategic priorities. Assist M&A Group leaders to identify resources within the global team and match those with client opportunities to optimize efficiency, client service, and developmental advancement at all levels.
    Who You Are:
    • J.D. or MBA degree with 5 to 7 years of experience in Practice Management/Operations in a large law firm
    • Experience as an attorney, in a large law firm preferred; M&A/Private Equity experience a strong plus.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Ability to develop and forge positive and collaborative working relationships.
    • Demonstrate sound judgment and to respect, protect, and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
    • Effectively manage projects and tasks including demonstrating delegation and organizational skills.
    • Work independently, be proactive, and take initiative.
    • Effective creative problem solving and people management skills.
    • Working knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel. Ability to learn and utilize additional programs
