    Qualifications:

    · Proven experience as a medication technician

    · Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision by following all community procedures and guidelines and having the ability to follow through on assigned tasks, and demonstrates initiative

    · Resident -oriented and friendly

    · Prioritization and time management skills

    · Working quickly without compromising quality

    · Knowledge of English language

    · Weekend employment required

    · Desire to work with seniors that may suffer from dementia and/or mental illness

    · Ability to handle multiple priorities

    · Ability to perform tasks with frequent interruptions

    ·

    Responsibilities:

    · Receiving, sorting, and administering medications to the residents

    · The primary role of the medication technician is to assist residents in taking their medications by providing them in a timely manner.

    · Documenting any residents that are not feeling well or need to see a doctor and reporting it to the nurse.

    · Ensure medication room and carts are maintain in safe manner at all times.

    · Work under the supervision of the Mediation supervisor in accordance with DOH regulations and Facility standards.

    · Ensure compliance with Medication management policy.

    · Adhere to all other assigned duties

    · Document medications

    · Ensure consistency between the physician prescriptions, blister packs and medications poured for each resident

    · Ensure timely and accurate medication orders and medication renewals

    · Communicate with the Medication Supervisor to clarify and ensure entitlements, prescriptions, and deliveries

    · Report residents who missed or refused medications to supervisor and case management

    · Attend all mandatory scheduled in-service training programs
