    Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

About Our UnitWelcome to our high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit. Our diverse patient population includes a broad range of medical and post-operative cases, such as:Orthopedic procedures: knees, hips, shouldersGeneral surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resectionsSpecialized care: bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothoraxWe maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by highly skilled Patient Care Associates to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery.

    QualificationsEducation & Licensure:
    Graduate of an accredited RN programActive RN license (state-specific or compact)

    Must meet all state board of nursing requirementsCertifications Required:
    ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life SupportBLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)

    Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)Physical Requirements:
