    Paralegal/Legal Assistant: Boutique law firm wholly devoted to family matters.     Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidate is a college graduate considering graduate school in law, psychology/social work or business and looking for exciting opportunity and hands on experience working in a Paralegal/Admin position, in Washington, DC. Legal assistant and/or paralegal experience is a plus

    Responsibilities: Performs the routine tasks of paralegal/legal assistant, but with a significant amount of contact with clients who are going through the distressing transition of divorce and other family matters. Tasks include: Serves as the "face" of the Firm (answers phone, fields inquiries from potential new clients, communicates with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel and others); attends client meetings and mediation sessions; compiles and organizes information and documents about all aspects of family law including family relationships, children and finances; assists in preparing legal filings; assists in courtroom (virtual and in person); and serves as office manager including maintaining electronic and paper files and office supplies.

    Minimum Qualifications: College degree with minimum GPA of 3.0 or Paralegal Certificate. Must be highly organized, naturally curious about others, maintain high attention to detail and professional demeanor. Demonstrated leadership (intercollegiate athletics, clubs, officer in volunteer organization, etc.), conflict resolution training and/or paralegal experience a plus.
