Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department - Clinical Manager

Position Summary:

• Assistswith developing specific departmental goals, standards, andobjectiveswhich directly support the strategicplan and vision of the organization.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
• Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
• Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
• Determinesand justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
• Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments; mayprovidepatient care when necessary.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referraland spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact staterequired
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of RN clinical experience in an emergency departmentrequired.
• Minimum two (2) years supervisory/management or Charge Nurse experience, preferably in a patient care settingrequired.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA)required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association (AHA)required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association OR Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification
• (ENPC) Emergency Nurse Associationrequiredor within six (6) months of hire
• Trauma Nurse Certification Course (TNCC) Emergency Nurse Association Preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisivejudgmentand the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate action.
• Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensurecontinuity of care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.
