    Overview Position Summary:

    This is a senior engineering position focused on design, qualification, and support of aircraft braking systems from initial proposal through preliminary and detail design, qualification/certification, and entry into service.

    Work will include a combination of R&D controls/software development, requirements creation, technical oversight of suppliers, interaction with customers, and evaluation of system performance.

    Works with other specialized engineers to develop system architectures, system safety analyses, system simulations, and control strategies for complex aircraft braking systems.


    Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

    _ _ Has Direct Reports _X Does Not Have Direct Reports Reporting to Director of Engineering and will be an instrumental part of a small team launching new technology on production programs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    The successful engineer will work closely with a small team of specialized engineers to launch complex braking systems on a variety of new aircraft programs.

    This position will create calculations, reports, analyses, and simulations for the braking systems and for various components in the system.


    Key experience must include:
    Aerospace embedded electronic control and/or software engineering project engineering experience, especially with non linear controls Experience with System Safety Analysis Aerospace electronics/software failure mode/dissimilarity/architecture experience DO-254 and DO-178 experience Experience with structured aircraft requirements decomposition and definition of resulting system and component requirements Experience with BLDC motor design, control, and modeling Experience with Simulink modeling of systems, controls, and real time simulations Strong problem solving experience Comfortable working with aircraft OEM engineering teams, supplier teams, and internal team

    Qualifications Education:
    Bachelor's degree (BS) in electrical engineering or other technical disciplines and relevant experience to the essential duties. Master of Engineering degree preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 8+ years of related experience.
