    Medical Associates Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Patient Services Department This outstanding team of compassionate individuals provide 24/7 telephonic medical advice, consultation, education, and triage to Medical Associates patients and providers.

    Schedule: Full or part time opportunity for weekend package, which includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a holiday rotation.

    *Excellent shift differential pay for weekend hours worked This position has the potential to work remotely once trained.

    The Position:
    Provide medical advice, consultation, education, and telephone triage to Medical Associates Clinic (MAC) or Health Plan patients and their family utilizing the established treatment protocols developed in coordination with Medical Associates Clinic physicians. Telephonically assist patients in determining the urgency of care needed, referring to or scheduling appointments as appropriate.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Assess, evaluate and educate members and customers contacting the 24 hour help line utilizing treatment protocol established by MAC providers. Assist in coordinating patient care for all ages using the nursing process problem identification, planning, and implementation of activities. Refer patients to the appropriate level of care as indicated by their condition and treatment protocol. Utilize the electronic medical record to determine other possible conditions that may affect the care of the patient.
    • information and computerized submission system and communicate results of request to the prescribing provider office.
    • Field complaints by MAC and Health Plan patients in a professional and non- threatening manner and document thoroughly in the complaints database so that follow up can be completed.
    • Facilitate locating on-call physicians and setting up referrals and consults upon request.
    • Assist with chart reviews, immunization documentation, obtaining clinical information from outside providers and other requested tasks of MAC and Health Plan during downtime periods.
    • Document the Hospital to Home and ER to Home information on patients from the MercyOne EMR to the Medical Associates EMR, which includes sending messages to the impacted departments.
    • Assist patients with general information.
    Knowledge and Skills:

    Education: Must possess valid RN license.

    Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.

    Other Skills: Strong computer, telephone and nursing triage skills.

    Physical Aspects:

    Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

    Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

    Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

    Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

    Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

    Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.

    Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.

    Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

    Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Environmental Condition:

    None - The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
