- Plans delivery of physical education curriculum to promote development of student's physical attributes.
- Teaches district approved curriculum.
- Plans, implements, reviews, and modifies curriculum to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, work time, and assessment.
- Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops and implements individual education plans and 504 plans.
- Confers with students, parents, and other staff to resolve student problems.
- Selects, stores, orders, issues, and inventories equipment, materials, and supplies used in physical education program. Also responsible for putting equipment away, and facility security.
- Provides qualitative and quantitative feedback to students, participates in parent/teacher conferences and open houses.
- Attends staff and department meetings.

SUMMARY: Teaches physical education activities to students in the District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in physical education.
COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, staff, or administrators.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
ANALYTICAL AND REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions in diagrammatic form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program, ability to plan and implement lesson plans based on district and building goals and the needs and abilities of the students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, parents, administrators, and community.
TEMPERAMENTS:
Ability to direct others, work with people, and influence people in their opinions, attitudes, and judgments.
