    Job Description:
    mpathic is looking for a part-time to full-time VP of Finance to join our team. The bandwidth of this role will increase as the company grows in needs. This role will report to the CEO Grin Lord on financial summaries, budgeting, revenue reporting, and financial dashboards.
    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team.

    The VP of Finance will serve as a financial advisor to the CEO and executive team for strategic planning purposes.

    The VP of Finance will also report on metrics to optimize our growth by understanding where efficiencies exist to maximize scalability throughout the year.

    VP of Finance responsibilities include overseeing budgets, forecasting and, gathering and analyzing financial data, and preparing financial dashboards.

    Ultimately, you are responsible for processing the financial activities of an organization to maximize a companys profits and plan for its growth.

    The role includes analyzing data and advising top executives on ways to use that information to make strategic decisions about the organizations future.

    With a hands-on approach to all aspects of an organizations finances, a VP of Finance must ensure a company complies with tax laws and regulations.

    We expect that this role will grow to a CFO position within two years as the company expands beyond Series A.


    What you'll be doing:


    Drive strategy for the company through a financial lens, working cross-functionally within our team to monitor the financial health of the business as well as identify, scope, and lead growth opportunities and initiatives.

    Crunch numbers as our company shifts dynamically with new contracts and opportunity, timely scenario modeling will be a key function; as well as financial impact of business decisionsImprove and maintain the companys financial model and business and financial metrics dashboard including participaition in roll-ups to senior leadership and the BoardOwn the FP&A process, including budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation and monthly variance analysis in partnership with functional leadersServe as the go-to finance thought partner for business leadersCreate, implement and oversee annual and quarterly goalsLead the preparation for quarterly board materials and monthly updatesImprove and implement financial systems, processes and controls across the organizationGrow and manage the finance team and any other team members on all accounting, compliance and regulatory tasksLiase with current investors and introduce to potential future investors; be available for pitchingLead data room preparation and investment memosWhat Were Looking for:Several years of finance experience in a startup environmentExperience working in FP&A and/or a strategic senior finance role with a track record of successfully reporting and presenting to board-level stakeholdersStrong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills, as well as experience preparing and presenting information to key decision-makersUnderstanding of GAAP accounting and experience managing internal accounting teamsCollaborative working style with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionallyAttention to detail and the ability to work proficiently, executing multiple tasks timely under significant time constraintsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and Google SheetsExperience with Quickbooks online, Carta, and other relevant startup FinOps platformsComfort working remotely and using remote communications and project management tools like Google Drive, Slack, and Trello for collaborationPreferred:5-7 years experience in a startup environmentFamiliarity with SaaS and modeling subscription and utilization-based servicesFamiliarity with modeling top-down, sales-led B2B businessesExperience in venture, investment banking, private equity or consultingPast experience in finance and business operations for Series Seed to Series C

    How Youll Work:
    We are a remote-first company. Whether you work from Baltimore, Salt Lake City, or Seattle, youre 100% part of the team.

    We have team and strategic meetings that are scheduled in the PST time zone where attendance is a requirement for this role.

    We will provide you with a computer, equipment, and access to software subscriptions.

    At mpathic, we have full team and department specific in-person retreats to build trust and sometimes hackathons to accomplish a specific goal in a short period.

    You can bet we'll be flying to hang out at some point during the year.

    If you want access to a co-working space - no problem; if you want to work at home - also no problem.

    We have a strong preference for this role to be based near Seattle, Washington for close collaboration with the CEO.Communication & collaboration is key to our success.

    We are a small, highly productive team so it is imperative that everyone communicate their needs, blockers, and progress on tasks.
