- Minimum education: Associates Degree in Nursing
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (new hires have the opportunity to obtain these certifications during introductory period)

Position Status: Full Time, 36 hours per week
Schedule: 12 hour shifts with flexible start times
RN to Patient Ratio: no more than 1:5
Position Summary: Registered Nurses at Cayuga Medical Center are an integral part of the collaborative interdisciplinary team devoted to the delivery of comprehensive and compassionate care to the Tompkins County community. RNs are able to practice at their full scope of practice, and have the opportunity to engage in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services with the goal of improving patient outcomes, and execute an optimal plan of care in a shared governance environment.

Department Specific: The Emergency Department offers the opportunity to work with a high variety case mix and acuity for a diverse population of patients. ED orientation is up to 6 months long, and is tailored to the individual needs of the employee. Employees are welcomed into a supportive and collaborative team, with positive provider relationships, and an array of opportunities within the department such as charge, triage, and access to an ENA module, TNCC classes, and other organizational resources.
