- Complete detailed and accurate reports of accidents, criminal/domestic complaints and/or arrests, and traffic enforcement actions.
- Investigate complaints of criminal activity, property damage, domestic disputes, and other complaints; determine extent of damage and/or violations and identify suspects.
- Interview victims, witnesses, and.
- Serve arrest and warrants; apprehend/arrest subjects, complete searches, serve civil process papers and tax warrants.
- Effectively patrol in assigned area; serve as a crime deterrent and detect suspected criminal and traffic violations.
- Observe and monitor traffic activity; may apprehend individuals, issue citations related to traffic violations, and aid motor vehicle operators.
- Complete vehicle inspections and searches for detection of safety violations or illegal firearms, stolen property, controlled substances.
- Promptly respond to fire alarms, traffic accidents, and personal injury situations to assist EMS and other emergency personnel.
- Complete routine business and residential property security checks, checks of bars and taverns for compliance with laws, and other general security and enforcement checks.
- Testify in court when required.
- Serve as severe weather spotter, translator, prisoner transport, funeral procession escort, and citizen contact point as needed.
- Assist other Sheriff's Office division and outside agencies.
- Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment, to include cleaning and servicing.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.

Summary

This position is under the general direction of the Patrol Sergeant and/or his/her designee.
