PrimeCare Medical is seeking dedicated and hard-working Registered Nurses (RN) to join the medical department team at Butler County Prison in Butler, PA.

$7,500 sign-on bonus

Current Openings:

Full-time split shift covering day and evening shifts
Full-time night shift

In the correctional healthcare setting, nurses have the chance to apply their hands-on assessment and clinical nursing skills on a daily basis.

Nurses deal with healthcare emergencies, conduct physical health assessments, perform initial screenings, handle medication distribution, manage nurse sick calls, and oversee chronic care clinics.

Nurses also support physicians, psychiatrists, and dentists. Working in correctional healthcare is akin to being in an emergency room or a clinic. It presents both challenges and rewards on a daily basis.

Job Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse will primarily focus on ensuring that nursing practices align with established standards.
Performing tasks such as taking vital signs, conducting comprehensive assessments, and documenting findings on patient care for all individuals in the medical and/or mental health units
Executing treatment care plans aimed at maintaining and enhancing the well-being of patients
Keeping accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in compliance with state and federal regulations
Handling sick calls for inmate/patients, offering initial diagnosis and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries
Facilitating the flow of pertinent information (inmate/patient data, unit issues) to the relevant personnel
Observing, recording, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmate/patients while contributing to nursing care plans
Providing health counseling to inmates/patients
Delivering additional services and carrying out assigned tasks from the Nurse Supervisor, Health Services Administrator, head nurse, or corporate staff
Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Active RN license in the state where the facility is situated
Adeptness at working in a dynamic environment
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Strong capabilities in patient assessment
Effective communication skills
Demonstrated clinical proficiency
