- Implement the policies of the Board of Education.
- Communicate appropriately with supervisors, other employees, students, and visitors.
- Maintain a friendly and helpful environment.
- Maintain an acceptable standard of personal appearance.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Provide immediate care to sick and injured students and staff or to make appropriate referrals for such care.
- Attend meetings and participate in conferences necessary for currency of services delivered.
- Assure overall supervision of health room.
- Dispense student medications as per doctor's orders.
- Perform regular checks for vision, height, weight, head lice, etc.
- Present health lessons to grades kindergarten through six.
- Support special services with periodic testing of vision and hearing.
- Compile report for immunizations to the Department of Health and State Board of Education.
- Check and record student health/immunization records.
- Coordinate the Wellness Program guidelines with the Food Service Director and building administrators.
- Maintain and revise the district Crisis Management Plan.
- Work with parents and students regarding communicable diseases and and immunizations.
- Cooperate with outside health agencies in meeting state guidelines for school health care.
- Assume responsibility for tasks other than those listed which may be assigned by a supervisor.
