    Parts Washer/Chip SpinnerDepartment: Machine ShopLocation: Fenton, MO

    Reports To:
    Production Supervisor - Machine ShopClassification: Hourly - Non-Exempt
    Typical Hours: 2nd Shift - (Monday - Thursday 3:15pm - 1:15am)

    Position Summary:

    Ensure all chip containers are emptied in a timely manner to avoid machine shutdowns and that the chips and oils are handled properly for recycling and resale.

    Primary responsibilities include running 2 types of chip spinning machines to clean the chips and separate oils.

    Once the chips are cleaned, the operator is responsible for separating and transferring the oil to the appropriate storage tanks along with keeping the area clean and safe on a continuous basis.

    Additionally, the operator will assist with unloading trucks and transferring material to the assigned locations along with various duties assigned by the supervisor.

    Responsible to inspect, wash, pack, label and box various machine shop parts. Will inspect and wash parts in appropriate solution.

    Requirements include but are not limited to:
    Must be safety and quality conscious, be able to lift up to 35 pounds. PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes are required at all times. Due to possibly sharp parts, finger wrapping is suggested. Due to washing solution a mask and gloves are also suggested.
    Unloads and receives material as needed and provides materials to the machines. Operates material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and powered industrial vehicles. Accurately completes paperwork necessary to perform the duties of this classification.


    Essential Job Duties:


    Run and maintain chip spinning equipment and overhead craneMove chip containers to spinner machine to clean chips and spin out oil for recycling purposesOperate forklift to retrieve and place chips into trailersTransfer chips into proper receptacles using a shovelHand mop floors to maintain a safe and clean work areaEnsure oil containers are separated into the appropriate areaUnload and receive material as needed.

    Check the schedules and move material to the appropriate machines.
    Ensures the stock holding racks are organized.
    Remove full scrap barrels, weigh, log and tag the barrels.
    Check outside hoppers and call for pick upsMonitor material quantities to ensure proper stock.
    Assists the Chip Spinner as needed.
    Monitor the bulk oil and solvent quantities.
    Prepare the brass trailer for pick up.
    Clean out the mop stations.
    Empty trash cans and replace with liners.
    Scrub the main aisle ways.
    Other duties as assigned.


    Required Experience/Skills:
