    Position Summary :


    The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patients' respiratory status and plan of care.

    Care is provided in a compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable fashion that exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Rush Copley Medical Center, and is in accordance with policies and procedures.

    The Registered Respiratory Therapist is expected to uphold the most ethical and safe processes while keeping the care of the patient as a top priority.

    The position works closely with the entire multidisciplinary team.

    The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides care and support in the following departments:
    Adult ICU (includes CV and Neurosurgical), Neonatal ICU, Progressive Care, Emergency Department and general floors. They are part of the Rapid Response and Code Blue Teams.


    Position Requirements :


    • Current State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license or license pending status in Illinois.
    • Completion of CoARC approved program in Respiratory Care is required.
    • CPR required
    • ACLS is required within 6 months of employment.
    • PALS is required within 12 months of employment.
    • NRP is required for all staff working in NICU III within 6 months of employment
