- Conduct engineering drainage evaluations and studies to identify stormwater management design improvement alternatives, compare options, and assist in making design recommendations as it relates to flood control and drainage design.
- Assist in drainage analysis (Infoworks ICM, XP-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS) of reports, maps (ArcPro), drawings (AutoCAD/Civil3D or OpenRoads Designer), aerial photographs, perform site visits, and review survey data to plan and assemble construction documents.
- Work from detailed sketches or off redlines to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings in ORD/AutoCAD.
- Adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps of processes.
- Exercise limited judgment in making preliminary method selections and the adoption of alternatives.
- Work under general supervision.
- Assist in client and sub-consultant contact and communication about specific projects.
- Attend client meetings.
- Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, design computations, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits, and designs.
- Contribute to the development of probable construction cost estimates for your projects.
- Review construction site to monitor progress and other duties based on the contract documents.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Occasionally be assisted by CADD designers.
- Be responsible for project quality on tasks assigned as defined in the Quality Assurance / Quality Control guidelines.
- EIT Certification or passing the FE Exam within 6 months of start.
- To understand the concepts of drainage systems, including system layouts and components, floodplain management, TxDOT and City drainage criteria and design preferences.
- Proficient in OpenRoads Drainage & DU software preferred.
- Flood control and drainage systems design.
- Microstation or AutoCAD.
- ArcGIS is a bonus.
- Valid Drivers License
