Salary $39.09 an hourKey AccountabilitiesPerform construction activities associated with the construction of electric substation across the New England territory. The welding classification requires aluminum and steel certifications. Welders must progress through the electrician progression and be willing to perform work tasks with the electrical crews.


OUTLINE OF DUTIES:
Fabrication and modification of various steel and aluminum structural components (towers, frames, mounting clips, etc.) Perform welding of various types of aluminum and steel structural components within the substation Perform welding on aluminum bus connections associated with the high-voltage equipment in a substation including pipes of various sizes up to 6" radius Must be able to perform duties from an aerial platform ("working at heights") Perform duties associated with the electrical installation of the substation including, but not limited to, conduit installation, pulling cable, installing switches and other apparatus Perform these duties in a safe and productive mannerQualifications Possess and maintain all necessary welding certifications for steel and aluminum welding SMAW

• Shield Metal Arc Welding (Stick) GMAW
• Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) Maintain a valid driver's license, DOT medical certificate, and CDL class B license.

Participate in and continually pass the DOT drug and alcohol testing program Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to obtain a company hydraulic license and be able to operate various equipment including crane truck, construction fork lift, man-lift and other equipment.

Possess good verbal and written communication skills, as well as good organizational skills Successfully pass test on recordNOTE:

Final Awarding of the Job(s) is contingent upon the applicant(s) successful completion of the Field Assessment Test or equivalent.
