    We seek a motivated and like-minded Psychiatrist or Addictionologist with clear goals of working as a full treatment team member with other medical professionals and advancing within our culture in the fast-paced and exciting mental health field


    About our Psychiatrist:
    The Psychiatrist will diagnose, conduct assessments, and prescribe medications for patients having psychiatric-mental health conditions.

    The role also includes developing an appropriate, integrated healthcare treatment plan and providing effective management of patient care with proper evaluation and follow-up care.

    Lastly, the Psychiatrist will be responsible for the supervision of a team consisting of interdisciplinary medical providers (PA-C, NP).

    What a Psychiatrist Does at


    PNS:
    Plan, organize, and provide ongoing medication management for new and existing patients.
    Conduct initial in-person and telemedicine psychiatric evaluations, periodic medication management, and monitoring visits.
    Timely documentation of visits and review of diagnostic test results with documentation of the course of action.
    Renewing and refilling medication to the best of their ability to avoid lapses in treatment.

    Provide emergency face-to-face or tele-medicine counseling and/or crisis intervention as needed to avert, or in response to patient relapse.

    Develop and maintain effective working relationships with community agencies, case managers, primary care providers, psychiatrists, clinical researchers, drug and alcohol treatment centers, and other members of the clinical team.

    Educates the patient in understanding the disease process with guidance regarding preventative practices necessary to manage acute and chronic conditions.

    Orders diagnostic tests and screening evaluations.
    Assist patients in identifying and pursuing effective treatment goals.
    Identify the types and amounts of support patients require to remain independent despite acute and chronic diseases.
    Maintain information on community resources for patient's assistance and support, with support from team members.

    Provide education, assistance, and support to family members and others involved with the patient to enhance awareness of mental and emotional illness and to increase their ability to contribute to the rehabilitation process.

    Maintain patient records, treatment statistics, and other documentation according to regulatory agency standards.
    Participate in oversight of the health, safety, and welfare of patients in the treatment programs.
    Supervision of a team consisting of interdisciplinary medical providers (PA-C, NP).
    Performs other duties as required.

    What You Would Bring to Our Company as a Psychiatrist:
    In-depth knowledge of psychiatric assessment, medication management, recovery principles, and the importance of peer involvement.
    In-depth knowledge of principles and methods of psychosocial rehabilitation.
    Advanced knowledge of the special needs and characteristics of the patient population.
    Knowledge of trauma-informed care.
    Knowledge of the methods used to prevent violent behavior or behavior harmful to the patient or others.
    Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to a non-medical audience.
    Ability to provide behavior management in crises.
    Knowledge of indications, common side effects, reactions, and interactions of medications commonly used by the patient population.
    Knowledge of documenting patient treatment and progress according to accepted professional and agency standards.

    Knowledge of how to work with patients who have multiple challenges; mental health, substance abuse, poverty, medical issues, trauma, and criminal behavior.

    Proficient in electronic medical record documentation and comfortable conducting telemedicine appointments.
    Ability to be open-minded and to provide collaborative care.

    A great bedside manner and the ability to remain calm, empathetic, and patient while interacting with patients who suffer from severe mental disorders.

    Thoughtful and compassionate.

    Education, Experience, and

    Other Requirements:
    Residency program in Psychiatry.
    Must hold a current and valid license to practice in California and hold an NPI.
    Must have full prescriptive authority and maintain current D.E.A. licensure.
    Certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS) is preferred but not required.
    Prefer at least two (2) years' experience as a Psychiatrist.
    Bilingual Spanish is preferred but is not required.
    Current and valid certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and valid driver's license.

    Salary $250,000-$400,000; based on skill, experience, and tenure of your profession.
