Purpose of Position
Produce accurate and reliable financial data and other reports as required by internal or external users in support of 14 institutions.
Essential Functions
Coordinate, assist with, and/or prepare consolidated Annual Financial Report schedules and footnotes, monthly financial reports, and Board meeting reports.
Assist with implementation of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards for the System.
Responsible for recording various types of activity to the general ledger and State systems and performing quality checks to ensure accuracy.
Responsible for analyzing financial data for possible errors, and if necessary, initiating and performing corrective action.Manage/query databases, create data visualizations, and develop analytic reports.
Conduct and participate in training others in accounting matters and provide detailed review.
Utilize proactive, clear and professional communication to provide changes and relevant information to supervisor and colleagues.
Responsible for assisting other departments with financial related matters.
Responsible for documenting and updating business processes and procedures.
Responsible for preparing special reports for management or outside agencies.
Build cross functional partnerships with internal customers across the organization.
Collaborate with other UT System departments on cross functional projects.
Collaborate with UT institutions on appropriate accounting and financial reporting treatment.
Recommend, develop, and implement process improvements.
Assist with various accounting system implementations.
Other duties/special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of five years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
People Soft experience
USAS experience
Hyperion Financial Management experience
Microsoft Power BI and/or data visualization experience
Workiva experience
Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) knowledge
Master's degree in related field and/or CPA certification
Working Conditions
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
Requires occasional evening or weekend hours
Hybrid work environment (remote & office)
Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
