Position Summary
This position will serve as the research technician in the lab of Dr. Arthi Kanthasamy in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology. This position involves working with graduate students and other senior research personnel.
The research lab conducts NIH-funded basic research pertaining to neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory mechanisms in cell culture and preclinical mouse models of Parkinson's disease and related neurological disorders.
The lab's translational research focuses on biomarker discovery in human samples and testing novel therapeutics in preclinical animal models.
Responsibilities of this postion will include multiple aspects of scientific research including experimental design and execution, assay optimization and validation, data collection, and project management.

Organize and assist in the implementation of research projects including data collection and project management. Read and develop a basic understanding of research project protocols. Maintain accurate records on every aspect of research projects. Proper disposal of biohazard waste. Perform inventory, and provide basic maintenance and ordering of research supplies and equipment. Assist graduate students and other senior research personnel with their experiments
