    Full time Faculty Medical Director University of California San FranciscoThe UCSF Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DPBS), Division of Substance Abuse and Addiction Medicine is inviting applications for a board certified or board eligible addiction psychiatrist / addiction medicine physician to join DSAAM as the OBIC Clinic Medical Director.

    As medical director and faculty in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, you will participate in administrative oversight, clinical care, teaching, supervision, and collaboration with 18 faculty and staff in a diverse, multidisciplinary setting located at 1380 Howard Street.

    Formerly known as the Office-based Buprenorphine Induction Clinic, OBIC Clinic is the nations first buprenorphine induction clinic, established as a partnership between UCSF and the San Francisco Department of Public Health in 2003.

    In addition to being the largest provider of buprenorphine treatment in San Francisco, OBIC Clinic also provides medication treatment for other substance use disorders, evaluation and management of common co-occurring psychiatric illnesses, contingency management for stimulant use disorder, and linkage to external providers of primary care, residential treatment, and specialty mental health care.

    OBIC Clinic is also the site of SAMHSA, CDC, State of California, and NIH funded clinical research studies and is a key partner in San Franciscos fight against opioid overdose deaths.

    Ideal candidates will have a strong administrative background and enjoy participating in clinical research. This position can be filled at Assistant to Full Professor.

    BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    Possession of a current California medical license and DEA certification, Board-certified or Board eligible in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine, at least 2 years post-residency training of independently prescribing buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid use disorder, and ability to obtain staff privileges at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital
