    The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking a Trauma and Emergency General Surgeon for a full-time academic position in the Department of Surgery-Division of Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery Section at both the Charleston General Hospital and Charleston Memorial located in the capital city of Charleston, West Virginia.

    The successful candidate will provide Trauma surgery and emergency general surgery services in our academic healthcare institution while providing educational opportunities for medical students, residents, and other clinical learners.

    The successful candidate will be joining a trauma/acute care surgery group at an ACS verified Level One Center with approximately 3,000 trauma admissions per year.

    In addition, rotations to Charleston Memorial to staff a robust emergency general surgery service will also be expected. Scholarly activities are highly encouraged.

    Job Requirements by the time of appointment are:
    MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an ACGME accredited program
    Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and board certification or board eligibility in surgical critical care required
    Possess aptitude and passion for educating residents and medical students
    Willingness to participate in appropriate academic, clinical research or other scholarly activity as may be required of clinical faculty
    Eligible for WV Medical License
