    Overview

    The Multi-Modality Radiology Technologist performs imaging procedures in a minimum of 2 or 3 modalities as detailed below. This role involves providing basic patient care, maintaining equipment, transporting patients, and preparing and maintaining documentation.

    Job Title: Multi-Modality Radiology Technologist

    Responsibilities
    • Obtains patient history.
    • Educates patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention.
    • Positions patients appropriately for the applicable radiographic procedure.
    • Performs radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines.
    • Develops and evaluates radiographic results for technical quality.
    • Applies learned methodologies with independent judgment according to established policies and procedures.
    • Maintains infection prevention standards.
    • Explains procedures and answers patient questions.
    • Prepares, cleans, adjusts, inspects, and maintains equipment.
    • Produces quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate documentation, archiving imaging data as needed or required.
    • Collaborates with physicians and other medical professionals.
    Modality Specifics CT:
    • Operates scanners to create cross-sectional images for diagnosis.
    • Determines and sets technical parameters accurately.
    • Performs scans for various medical issues.
    Mammography:
    • Prepares patients and equipment for mammography.
    • Positions patients and performs exams.
    • May participate in advanced procedures like biopsies.
    MRI:
    • Operates magnetic resonance scanners for diagnosis and treatment.
    • Creates high-quality scans using imaging techniques.
    • Prepares patients for scans and administers necessary substances.
    Diagnostic/Xray:
    • Performs radiographic procedures using various equipment.
    • Ensures proper setup and positioning of patients.
    • Processes films and creates copies for review.
    Ultrasound:
    • Performs sonographic examinations to record critical data.
    • Produces images for diagnostic purposes.
    • Monitors patient health using technology.
    Nuclear Medicine:
    • Performs nuclear medicine procedures competently.
    • Administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostics and treatments.
    • Tracks and records radiation within the body.
    Quality
    • Adheres to standards affecting patient care and safety as well as hospital policies.
    • Performs equipment quality control measurements.
    • Monitors workflow and maintains inventory.
    Education
    • Participates in creating a learning environment supported by evidence-based practice.
    • Focuses on personal development areas.
    • Engages in professional interactions and seminars.
    Compliance/Safety
    • Ensures compliance with regulations and company policies.
    • Keeps certifications and licenses up-to-date.
    • Completes mandatory training in specified timeframes.
    • Reports safety incidents promptly and promotes a safe work environment.
    Qualifications

    Education: Associates of Applied Science or Related Fields- Required Certifications & Licensures Diagnostic/Xray: MRTBE, ARRT- Required, BLS (American Heart Assoc.)- Required CT: MRTBE CT-Required, BLS (American Heart Assoc.)- Required Mammography: MRTBE Mammography- Required, BLS (American Heart Assoc.)- Required MRI Technologist: ARRT MRI (or) ARMRIT-Required, BLS (American Heart Assoc.)- Required Ultrasonography: ARDMS within 6 months of hire- required, RVT-Preferred, BLS (American Heart Assoc.)- Required

    Fingerprint Clearance Card application number- Required upon hire

    Fingerprint Clearance Card- Required within 90 days of hire

    Experience
    • Minimum 1 year experience as an imaging technologist- Required (3 years experience- Preferred)
    • Experience in hospital environments- Preferred
    • Various experience levels preferred based on specific modalities.
