The Procurement Analyst performs the following duties:

• Serves as an authoritative source of information and furnishes technical advice and assistance to the Department contracting personnel.
• Serves as procurement analyst interpreting Federal and Departmental regulatory requirements governing procurement and advises and assists contracting and operating personnel in the application of related programs, policies and procedures.
• Participates in the development of policy as a representative to special task groups within the agency or department and develops position papers relating to various phases of contracting.
• Provides Department-wide guidance and technical expertise on various acquisition workforce, procurement program matters, and initiatives impacting the effectiveness of the organization.
