Overview

Join the food service team at River Valley Therapeutic Residence in Essex, Vermont. We are looking for people who love to work with food and are committed to providing healthy meals to our residents. Environmental Factors

Work is performed in an institutional kitchen during an assigned shift. Incumbents must be able to operate cutters and slicers, handle knives, lift heavy weights (up to 60 lbs.) and work under conditions of high heat and humidity. Duties include supervision of institutional residents or inmates in work situations.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of experience in volume cooking.

High School diploma or equivalent AND completion of a high school level culinary arts career preparation program.

Completion of a formal course in commercial food preparation.

Special Requirements

Note: Incumbents employed by the Vermont Veterans' Home, River Valley Therapeutic Residence and Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital must be ServSafe Certified within the first six months of employment.
