Job DutiesProvides direct patient care, within the scope of their license, with supervision from the physician.
This may include the following:
medical treatment of wounds at the basic/intermediate/advanced level, would care, ability to administer medications by pre-established protocol which includes vasoactive medications, draw bloodwork, place splints/boots/etc., Foley insertion, use of glucometer, I-STAT, Kurin, vital signs (rectal temps/immunocompromised), and IV fluid administration.
The position may administer preset protocols and standing orders, as ordered by a physician.Performs clinical job duties as defined in orientation packet for skills checkoff and monitored on an annual basis thereafter through annual competency assessment.
Supports physicians, nursing, and hospital administration by acceptance of established objectives, policies and procedures. Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with EMTALA regulations.Accurately documents patient related tasks.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to:
respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
