Provides support for information security processes and in the management of security incidents in the organization to ensure security of the organization's systems and information assets.
Installs security software, compiles reports to track effectiveness, monitors for security issues, investigates and reports on breaches in security, and operates other software to protect systems and information from unwanted exposure.
Assists and trains users with use of security software in alignment with internal policies and procedures.Pay Range:
$24-$28
Responsibilities
Installs, configures, diagnoses, identifies and resolves security hardware and software in a wired and wireless enterprise environment.
Pursues resolution to a variety of security issues using technical knowledge, tools and organizational resources. Documents all requests/incidents, troubleshooting efforts, resolution outcomes, in the organizations' ticketing system and keeps end-user informed.
Follows established escalation and alerts' management procedures to:
outages, priority issues, recurring problems and patterns.
Monitors information security compliance and provides periodic reports and analyses to IT management.
Creates and/or revises administrative and end-user security documentation related to applications and processes, in support of establishing security standards and best practices for the organization.
Provides end-user training for security systems and security software products.Participates in and supports security related initiatives and projects. Assists in the evaluation and research of security systems and of the latest information technology security industry trends.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or related field. Or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience to perform the job successfully.
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is required.
Experience
2-5 years of experience in IT administration with a security focus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of PC related software and hardware, knowledge of security related applications, familiarity with ticketing systems, and strong customer service and organizational skills.
Adaptive customer service skills including the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels, internal and external to the organization.
Consistent ability and practice handling and maintaining confidentiality with organizational matters.Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and learn department-specific computer systems.
Experience supporting 1,500+ end-users.
May be asked to be on call and respond in a timely manner.
Ability to work on individual tasks, as well as team-oriented tasks.
Familiarity with tracking and reporting tools.
May require up to 30% travel time to resolve issues.
