Duties and Responsibilities:
25% Curriculum: Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum of the School of Nursing ADN and PN programs and other courses offered by the School of Nursing.
b. Work cooperatively with Level/Program Coordinators in course and curriculum planning
c. Monitor overall curriculum and course progression
d. Facilitate textbook selection and serve as liaison with the college bookstore
e. Oversee administration of proficiency and credit exams
f. Oversee selection and utilization of clinical facilities, including maintenance of affiliation agreements

Academic Support:
Coordinate academic support activities
a. Coordinate orientation program for incoming students for ADN and PN programs
b. Direct advising process for incoming RN, PN, LPN to RN, transfer and advanced placement students
c. Collaborate with Level/Program Coordinators and Registrar during
registration for all programs
d. Implement, evaluate and maintain retention plan for all programs

Student Services:
Assist students with curriculum, service and academic matters
a. Oversee maintenance of student records, including health, CPR, liability and clinical evaluations
b. Serve as resource for Level/Program coordinators and faculty regarding student academic status
c. Meet with Level/Program coordinators and/or student(s) as Dean's designee to discuss academic or student issues
d. Act as officer for program re-entry
25% Administrative: Represent the Nursing Division at various college, school, nursing and community functions
a. Oversee planning, implementation and evaluation of new faculty orientation
b. Serve as liaison among departments of the school and the college
c. Provide input for maintenance, writing and reviewing of school and college publications, student and faculty handbooks
d. Coordinate internal and external functions of the nursing division
e. Represent the Dean of Nursing at meetings/activities as needed
f. Provide guidance, supervision and evaluation of office personnel, HPS and Skills Lab/Retention Coordinators, and faculty teaching pharmacology
g. Participate in the accreditation process
h. Oversee the development and implementation of projects as assigned
Required Education:
Master's Degree in Nursing from an institution accredited by an authorized accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Required Experience:
Four years of higher education teaching experience required, community college experience preferred.
Demonstrate leadership ability.

Current unencumbered, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana (renewed annually)
