Scheduled Work Hours:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Summary of Primary
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under minimal direction, Project Engineers liaise between company distribution, transmission, substation, standards and planning engineers, operations craft and management, and external parties as needed including residential, commercial, and industrial customers, consultant engineers, and project managers.
Project Engineers engage project stakeholders to transform engineering concepts into organized, actionable, and safely constructable designs focused on affordability, reliability, and sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and Experience Requirements:
One of the following is required; Bachelors Degree OR Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, Technology, or Construction Science, OR 4+ years applicable industry experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Required
Excellent written and verbal communication
Foundational project management and coordination
Planning, organizing, and time management
Problem-solving
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams (or similar)
Preferred
Mathematics, engineering statics and mechanics of materials
Technical reading
Electrical theory

Land and Construction Surveying
Physical Requirements:
Job includes, but is not limited to hearing, seeing, walking long distances on uneven terrain, talking, reading, typing, writing, color distinction, depth perception, working outside in adverse conditions, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, etc.).
Licenses, Certification, Bonding, and/or Testing:
Requires a valid Kansas Driver's License.
Working Conditions:
Most work is performed in an office with field work as necessary. Occasional travel to other locations within the company is required. Position requires work beyond normal business hours depending on workload, project deadlines, and service restoration efforts. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
