- Work with service organization of WestRock's Machinery business segment to identify and catalog demand new and improved business capabilities.
- Gather and document business functional requirements, epics, and user stories for technology solutions; translating them into technical specifications for system implementations
- Document business processes; apply best practices, systems capabilities, and business requirements to build "to be" processes; conduct gap analyses; and design the appropriate solutions to resolve.
- Collaborate with Solutions and Enterprise Architects to determine the proper technology solutions.
- Work with IT project leads and product owners in developing project scope, project charter, project timeline, and "use cases" based on business requirements.
- Design and coordinate test plans for designed solutions in partnership with business partners and IT functions to ensure the delivered solutions meet the defined requirements and business needs.
- Provide software support: testing, correcting, and documenting large and/or complex issues and recommending modifications from supplied specifications using agreed upon standards and tools.
- Research and understand industry best practices in technical and functional business areas to recommend & enable business processes, driving improvements in workflow, and increasing business partner productivity.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact and value of implementing the mentioned technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, or related area of study
- 5-10 years of IT and/or business-related analyst experience.
- Technical solutions skills in an "engineer to order environment," including full life cycle deployments --ERP, PLM, IoT (Telit, ThingWorx, Kepware, or similar technologies), Service Lifecycle Management, XR/VR technologies) – are a plus.
- Experience as a project manager, and/or business or systems analyst in a high visibility role working on technology projects.
- Financial acumen to assist in the tracking and reporting of project expenditures.
- Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong process and analytical skills and use of business analyst practices and processes
- Defining and designing business processes and workflows across various orders to cash, manufacturing and supply chain functions and stakeholders in the organization.
- Strong people skills, collaborative problem-solving skills, ability to listen to and understand needs across diverse stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Thorough understanding of business processes.
- Proficient in documenting Visio flows
- Proficient in use of other Microsoft productivity tools -- Word, Excel, Power Point
- Ability to build and deliver effective presentations to various levels of leadership
- Knowledge and use of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel internationally as needed.

The opportunity:
The Sr IT Business Analyst will provide technical and functional support to the service organization of the Global Machinery business including implementing IT solutions to specific business performance goals and needs. The Sr IT Business Analyst is responsible for learning our business partner's goals and priorities to develop and recommend enabling process and technology solutions. The Sr IT Business Analyst will play an important role as a member of the WestRock Consumer IT team supporting and collaborating with the business to optimize how our Global Machinery Service systems/solutions are implemented and utilized.
