    SUMMARY:


    The Program & Projects Manager will be responsible for improving upon the corporate safety programs, monitoring and auditing those programs at all locations, and developing new programs and procedures around safety to meet required regulations.

    This role will also be responsible for organizing and presenting safety programs to internal corporate leadership and outside auditors.

    They will research, develop and create improvements that focus on ways to increase productivity, maximize efficiency and manage human capital more effectively.

    Develop and implement strategic projects supporting the corporate office, Distribution Centers and other operations.

    The Program & Projects Manager will spend more time analyzing and monitoring data/trends, assist in constructing process and growth support plans, and coordinating (and completing) multiple projects simultaneously in the Operations area.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Develop and maintain a written Corporate Safety Program and oversee its execution and compliance for a network of 11 distribution centers and 3 offices.


    Oversee all aspects of project management:
    Set deadlines, assign responsibilities/tasks, monitor, report and measure progress.

    Support operations through performing various tasks and analyses as required, including but not limited to:

    Designing layout of equipment, DCs and other Almo workspaceAssisting in the development, recommendation, and implementation of improvement projects and systems for Almo Distribution CentersEnsure a safe work environment that adheres to regulatory codes and meets corporate safety goals.

    Participate in the development of all required reports and documentation related to safety activities to meet company and regulatory compliance.

    Be the lead authority in Incident Investigation, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Actions.
    Be the lead developer of on-site Hazard/Risk Analysis for each location.

    Conduct safety audits and inspections regularly at each location to identify hazards and deficiencies that expose the organization to loss or failure.

    Becoming a Koerber WMS SME (subject matter expert) in order to support all Almo Distribution Centers on on-going routines/processes and to look for continuous improvement opportunities to enable DC people resources to accomplish work transactions thru Koerber WMS more efficiently and effectively.

    Maintain liaisons with outside organizations such as fire departments, local authorities and agencies.
    Excellent skills in Powerpoint and/or other similar software for presentations to Executive Management and parent company safety councils.
    Developing Production and Distribution layouts, determines manpower requirements, conducts capacity analysis and cost justifications.

    Designing and developing Standard Operating Procedures for warehousing operations to improve ways of maintaining quality and consistencyDeveloping and maintaining appropriate operational data related (and in some cases unrelated) to projectsUsing data to assist in financial planning and cost analysisIn addition to the above responsibilities, the Program & Projects Manager will:Build, maintain and analyze comprehensive operational metrics related to DC and transportation function, which drives methodology, automation and other solutions.

    Assist in setting milestones and monitoring projects against those milestone pointsAssist in setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities/tasks, reporting on any/all variancesSupport more complex project modeling and what if projects with data, analysis, and/or CADMonitor and lead all of the projects related to that area, including Industrial Engineers, summer and other interns, etc.

    Other duties as assigned.


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Education and/or Experience:
    Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering or Industrial Engineering.

    3 + years of experience in organizational safety programsThorough understanding of OSHA and NIOSH rules and regulationsQualificationAbility to work with minimal supervisionDetailed orientedPhysical Requirement:
    Capability to lift 50 pounds

    Working Conditions:
    Office and distribution centers based. Travel required to 11 Distribution Centers and 3 offices across the country for audits and inspections.
