    Job Description

    VTX is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join the Finance function.

    Responsibilities may include:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
    • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities
    • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
    • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
    • Support the Controller in managing the general ledger and month-end close process
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
    • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during financial audits
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
    • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
    • Review and ensure the correct posting of entries by other staff
    • Provide support for special projects as assigned
    • Assist in the guidance and training of staff
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
    • 5 or more years of experience in accounting or related field
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
    • Experience with corporate accounting, or public accounting is preferred
    • Proficiency in Enertia accounting software is preferred
    • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
    • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience in Oil and Gas accounting is a plus
