    Summary:


    Plans, coordinates, and evaluates all unit activities impacting patient care delivery; holds self and staff accountable for identification, evaluation, documentation, and appropriate intervention of patients' needs to ensure quality and cost-effective patient care.

    Maintains accountability for ongoing unit operations, including practice and financial management.


    Ensures the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice through the implementation of the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.

    Utilizes productivity metrics and performance measures to drive labor utilization. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.

    Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.


    Qualifications:

    Required:
    Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).

    Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.

    3 years of clinical experience including experience as a preceptor, charge nurse, or committee leader

    Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, delegation, and problem-solving skills.

    Nursing certification in specialty area or in nursing management/leadership (e.g., CNML, NE-BC).

    Current AHA certification(s) relevant to clinical practice area (as outlined in the RN Clinical Nurse job description).

    Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.


    Preferred:
    Master's degree in nursing or another health-related field.


    Physical Demand:
    May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
    May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
    Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
    Ability to read job related documents.
    Ability to use computer.
