    General Purpose:

    The Tennis and pickleball Coordinator assists the General Manager or direct supervisor in managing the facility's day-to-day Tennis and pickleball operations. The position supervises and manages total tennis and pickleball operations without the General Manager. All work duties shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and complete customer satisfaction.

    Essential Duties:

    Under the direction of the General Manager, the Tennis and Pickleball Coordinator is responsible for administering and instructing all areas of the tennis and pickleball program, including all classes, levels, training, special events, and tournaments.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Teaching Lessons (Pickleball and Tennis)

  • Teach private and group lessons as assigned in accordance with club policies.
  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate proper techniques, such as grip, stroke production, serve, footwork and rules.
  • Conduct instruction in accordance with the Club's standardized methods and strategies.
  • Perform necessary administrative tasks, such as attendance taking, returning messages, and general correspondence with patrons and co-workers.
  • Discretely work through differences with fellow teaching professionals to avoid distractions on the court or in front of clientele.
  • Arrive in time to start lessons punctually and allow enough time to complete the lesson and clean up as scheduled.
  • Operate summer camp programming.
  • Administration and Budget

  • Assist with the planning and implementing tennis and pickleball programs, classes, levels, training, tournaments, and special events.
  • Assist managerial preparation for and facilitation of seasonal registration.
  • Manage the proper placement of students in class levels based on skill level.
  • Provide recommendations for the club's summer programming.
  • Complete timesheet daily by accurately inputting privates/groups/drop-in and administrative hours.
  • Secure substitute teaching professionals when unable to fulfill commitments.
  • Keep accurate attendance records and update master lists. Maintain a neat and clean facility, including ball pickup and proper equipment storage after every shift.
  • Maintain list of client names for private lessons. Participate and contribute to periodic staff meetings and professional development training.
  • Assist with staff hiring, training, and evaluating.
  • Communication

  • Recruit participants for programming
  • Keep administrative staff apprised of any key issues, class assignment changes, and other significant developments in a timely fashion.
  • Solicit feedback and actively listen to others.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Conduct all work safely, including using personal protective equipment and safety devices as required. Identify and report any safety hazards.
  • Attend all club required training.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

    Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. Ability to play and teach pickleball and understand rules for pickleball and tennis. Must be certified or able to obtain within six months of employment: Certification with the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association "Level 1" Certification and have a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience with various ability levels. Additional tennis teaching experience is welcomed.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database, Internet, and Word Processing software.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Must have International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) certification. Certification with the Professional Tennis Registry "Professional Level" Certification or with the United States Professional Tennis Association "Professional 1 Level" Certification is also preferred.

    Valid Driver's License

    American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification preferred

    Schedule: This position will require approximately25 hours of court instruction and 10 hours of administrative duties a week. Administrative pay rate is $10 an hour.

    Classification: Seasonal Part Time; Non-exempt
