Job summary
The Manager Retirement Benefits manages daily operations of multiple Retirement Benefits teams in accordance with Company guidelines client needs and regulatory requirements Provides daily leadership and supervision to team consistent with management values and mission Assigns distributes and monitors quality and quantity of work produced ensuring employees are held accountable for consistently meeting quality production requirements Develops staff through performance management goal setting training effective employee relations Communicates implements changes in policies procedures Plan guidelines Ensures applicable training is delivered to support operational execution Oversees the processing of retirement benefit applications calculations payments in accordance with Plan documents regulatory requirements Conducts unit meetings on a regular basis to discuss updates changes affecting operations new procedures policies or updates to Plan guidelines Provides status production reports on processing metrics applications status as needed May perform final quality review of unusual complicated retirement benefit calculations balancing monthly benefit payments May assist resolve escalated calls questions May attend Board Trustee meetings provide operational updates Performs other duties assignedQualifications
High school diploma GED Five years experience working in retirement benefits Two years experience an operations supervisory role Working knowledge defined benefit plans defined contribution plans 401 k plans benefits administration systems Exceptional team player confidence integrity earn client internal team confidence quickly Proven ability recruit lead motivate team balance staffing strength profitability growth Excellent verbal written communication skills interpersonal skills Exceptional analytical problem resolution skills ability exercise independent sound judgment Strong decision-making organizational skills attention detail optimize available resources deliver multiple priorities Ability effectively manage remote employees diverse locations regions Must willing travel business dictates Computer proficiency Microsoft Office tools applicationsResponsibilities
